This year at our Annual Fall Conference, we will be exploring topics that would have been commonplace during the early 19th century. You will have the option to select from such Workshops as Chopping Wood, Cast Iron Cooking, sewing a Quilt Square, Basket Weaving, Archery, Frontier Medicine, and Drop Spindling. During our Hands-On Station Rotation we will be hand-dipping candles, learning how to use a washboard, making tin can lanterns and learning some basic hand-sewing. Our weekend-long project will involve learning how to use a Lucet, and what to do with the cording you make.
Housing is going to be amazing this year! We have reserved the Lodge at Wafloy Mountain, and we will have two Ladies per room, each in their own queen bed, and each room will have a bathroom and porch! Our facility also has its own meeting room and dining room/kitchen, which will allow us to keep everything under one roof.
As requested, this year we will be doing all of our meals in house! Dinner Friday night will be a Baked Potato and Chili Bar. Saturday, we will start the day with an omelette bar, granola and yogurt. For lunch you will go into Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge with some friends, and for dinner we will have Rabbit and Veggie Stew and Sourdough Bread. Breakfast Sunday am will be pancakes, omelettes, granola and yogurt. We are accustomed to working with special diets, so please do not let your dietary needs prevent you from coming.
Once again, we will have our Leadership Gathering from 3-5 pm on Friday afternoon. This is a time to get together with Leaders from around the country for networking, encouragement and a time of setting the vision for the coming months. This is always a favorite session for our attendees!
This year, we are capping registration at 65, so you will not want to delay reserving your spot. A non-refundable $50 deposit will hold your spot for Survive. The balance will need to be paid-in-full no later than August 31st. Last year, we sold out our conference in the first five weeks!
We hope that you will come and join us for Survive :: A Day in the Life of Ma Ingalls, where we will live out our motto: "Cultivating Dreams :: Growing Communities".
